Less Vitamin D Causes Mental Limitations

INTAKE vitamin D is important for calcium absorption in the body. But not only serves to strengthen bones, vitamin D is also good for health, especially mental women.


Two studies conducted in France and the United States found that a high intake of vitamin D seems to be good to protect the mental health of women. This vitamin can also prevent Alzheimer's disease, as reported by Healthmeup.


The study, led by Yelena Slinin from VA medical centers in Minneapolis found that low vitamin D levels in women can result in cognitive decline at higher age. They analyzed 6257 elderly women and measured levels of vitamin D in the body.


In the Journals of Gerontology Series A earlier this year found that both men and women are not getting enough vitamin D, either from diet, supplements, or exposure to sunlight, the more likely there are at increased risk of developing mobility limitation and disability.
